RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Unit Secretary for the Cardiac Post CTICU at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. The role supports the nursing team and acts as the central point of communication on the unit, coordinating admissions, orders, and patient information in the EMR.

You will engage with physicians, nurses, patients, and families, ensuring accurate data flow and exceptional patient experiences in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Clerical or administrative experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills essential.
• Comfort with electronic health records and computer use.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, visitors, and staff with professionalism.
• Answer phones, pages, and intercoms and route requests to the correct team.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges with accurate patient data.
• Enter physician orders and update patient records in EMR.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain unit reports and documentation.
• Support nursing station operations and maintain supplies for a smooth workflow.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to ensure efficient patient care.
