Qualifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in New Jersey.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in specialty preferred.
• BLS certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification obtained during clinical orientation
• ECG course completed during clinical orientation
• Critical Care course within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Provide coordination of resources and activities within the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit.
• Interact with all hospital departments to initiate, coordinate and maintain optimum patient care for adults and geriatrics.
• Promote customer satisfaction and a positive work environment.
• Ensure procedures are performed per established standards and code of ethics; maintain competency within scope of practice.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care with age-appropriate considerations.
• Report significant changes in unit condition, incidents, or personnel issues.
• Oversee unit orientation for new staff and float/agency personnel.
• Assist Nurse Manager in planning growth and development of staff.
• Maintain knowledge of Nursing Quality Improvement activities on assigned shift.
• Provide other essential functions as directed by management
