Job summary

ThedaCare Appleton is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Cardiovascular Unit on a 12-hour night shift (5:30p–6a), with every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation required. The role supports patient care under supervision, focusing on safety and quality in a fast-paced cardiac environment.

Under supervision of LPN/RN or nurse leader, you will provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care, collect data, and collaborate with the care team to meet patient needs and outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; healthcare experience preferred.
• American Heart Association HealthCare Provider Life Support (BLS) certification required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs delegated patient care activities using evidence-based practice and competencies for cardiovascular patients.
• Checks vital signs, height and weight as needed based on patient type.
• Assists patients with basic needs and activities of daily living.
• Collects clinical data and reports to the care team.
• Performs ECGs and phlebotomy as directed.
• Maintains patient safety and supports care team interactions.
