Job summary

MedStar Health seeks a Cardiac Intervention Technologist II for Baltimore-area hospitals to perform angiographic, therapeutic, and interventional procedures. The role includes pre/post-procedure patient care, monitoring, and assisting the physician with catheterization.

Qualifications

• AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology of at least 2 years duration.
• 2 years' experience in diagnostic radiology.
• Experience in interventional radiology/cardiac catheterization or equivalent.
• ARRT certification or registration.
• Maryland Radiology Technologist license.
• ACLS certification or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Administers contrast media into coronary arteries under Cardiologist guidance during catheterization.
• Assists in propulsion and placement of guide wires and catheters, supports physician as first assistant.
• Maintains interventional and cardiac supplies, enters patient data into RIS/hospital systems.
• Performs hemodynamic monitoring and recording for cardiovascular procedures; manages imaging equipment.
• Pre/post-procedural duties including patient education, specimen handling, and discharge instructions.
