Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
• Basic EKG interpretation preferred.
• Experience in Cardiology, nursing, EMT, Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, or Respiratory Therapy preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform Electrocardiograms (EKGs) in Emergency Department and in-house locations.
• Perform Holter and Event monitor placements.
• Reconcile EKGs with orders and assign to physicians in a timely manner.
• Differentiate STAT EKGs and prioritize completion.
• Maintain and troubleshoot EKG equipment.
• Assist with training of new staff and interns.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions.
• Place EKGs in physician boxes and distribute reports.
• Provide general respiratory therapy if applicable.
