Job summary

The Heart Failure Unit (5E) at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE is a 36-bed unit providing high-acuity cardiac care, including post-operative open-heart and LVAD patients. The RN role includes advanced assessment, hemodynamic monitoring, and patient education, with shifts on a 7A-7P and 7P-7A rotating schedule.

Requirements include BSN preferred with commitment to obtain BSN within three years, at least one year RN experience, and Delaware licensure eligibility.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; commitment to obtaining BSN within three years of hire.
• At least one year of RN experience required.
• Previous stepdown experience preferred.
• Previous critical care experience preferred.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred.
• Delaware RN licensure or eligibility required or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on the Heart Failure Unit (5E).
• Perform advanced assessment and continuous hemodynamic/cardiac monitoring.
• Administer medications and educate patients and families.
• Detect early changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
