Job summary

ChristianaCare's Heart Failure Unit (5E) at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE, is a 36-bed post-critical care unit specializing in complex heart failure and postoperative cardiac care. As an RN on 5E, you’ll perform advanced assessments, continuous cardiac monitoring, med administration, patient education, and early detection of clinical changes, caring for chest tubes and external pacing wires.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred and commitment to obtaining BSN within three years.
• At least one year of RN experience; prior stepdown or critical care preferred.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred; Delaware licensure or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care with advanced assessments and continuous hemodynamic monitoring.
• Administer medications, educate patients, and detect changes in condition early.
• Care for patients with chest tubes, external pacing wires, and other post‑op devices.
