Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System invites registered nurses to join the Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit at Mount Carmel East. The unit supports a mix of cardiac patients, with strong collaboration with vascular surgeons, in a 28-bed environment designed for experienced and new nurses alike.

The role emphasizes delivering evidence-based care, patient education, and teamwork in a fast-paced, 12-hour night shift setting. A commitment to professional development and safety is essential.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited nursing program with active Ohio RN license.
Current BLS/CPR certification.
Ability to plan, organize and delegate patient care to the team using EMR.
Demonstrated commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

Assess and evaluate patient care for an assigned group of patients using evidence-based practice.
Assist providers with patient assessments, exams and treatments; set up procedures.
Administer medications according to policies and guidelines.
Educate patients and families about diagnoses and care plans.
Document assessments, interventions and outcomes accurately in the EMR.
Coordinate with the care team and supervise other staff as needed.
