Job summary

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant for the MICU, supporting daily patient care under RN supervision. The role includes basic care, vital signs documentation, and routine rounds.

Shifts are 7p–7a, totaling 24 hours per week with rotating weekends and holidays. Requires BLS within 45 days and Nurse Aide in good standing; GED or high school diploma is acceptable. Additionally, candidate must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification must be obtained within 45 days, and Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated in the state registry.

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily patient care including bathing, feeding, and positioning.
• Records vitals (BP, TPR, I&O, daily weights) and documents in EMR.
• Performs rounding and communicates observations to RN.
• Supports admission, transfer and discharge processes under RN supervision.
• Collects specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated.
• Performs routine tasks including chart/patient belongings, stocking, and equipment cleaning.
