Advocate Health Care in Oak Lawn, IL seeks an EKG Technician to perform 12-lead EKGs and other non-invasive cardiovascular tests. You will ensure accurate ECG results for cardiologists, prepare inpatients and outpatients for Holter monitoring, and maintain EKG data and patient records with meticulous attention to safety and quality.

The role requires a high school diploma or an EKG cert program with internship, plus CPR/BLS certification within 6 months.

Formación

• High School Diploma or completion of an EKG certificate program with a clinical internship.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or achieved within listed timeframes.

Responsabilidades

• Perform 12-lead EKGs and other non-invasive cardiovascular testing for patients.
• Ensure accurate results from 12-lead, single-channel, and signal-average ECGs for interpretation.
• Administer 12-lead ECGs and report severe abnormalities; support patient safety initiatives.
• Prepare patients for 24-hour Holter monitoring and event monitors as needed.
• Provide patient instructions for arrhythmia monitors to optimize results.
• Handle non-clinical duties related to editing and maintaining EKG data.
• Maintain accurate patient files and department logs and perform routine EKG system backups.
• Ensure proper functioning of equipment; perform routine maintenance and report malfunctions.
• Keep work area clean, orderly, and compliant with safety standards.
• Process completed reports per departmental procedures and maintain logs (performance improvement, logs, inventories).
• Perform routine HIS functions (ordering, charging, crediting, etc.).
