Advocate Health is seeking a cardiovascular technician to perform 12-lead electrocardiograms and related non-invasive tests. You will prep inpatients and outpatients for Holter monitoring, ensure accurate results for cardiologists, and maintain complete patient files and department logs.

The role includes routine equipment checks, backup of EKG data, and timely processing of reports. CPR/BLS and NCET or equivalent certification within the required timeframe are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 6 months to 1 year EKG/healthcare experience or an EKG program with clinical internship.
• NCET certification or equivalent within 1 year of employment; CPR/BLS certification within 6 months.
• Completion of an EKG certificate program with clinical internship is acceptable.

Responsabilités

• Perform 12-lead EKGs and non-invasive cardiovascular testing with accurate results for interpretation by cardiologists.
• Administer and prepare patients for Holter monitoring and event monitors when needed.
• Maintain patient files, department logs, and perform routine EKG management system backups.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained, troubleshoot issues, and keep the work area clean and safe.
• Process completed reports and perform routine HIS functions (ordering, charging, crediting, etc.).
• Maintain documentation of Performance Improvement monitors and inventory related to the department.
