Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in cardiovascular tech or related field.
• 1 year healthcare experience.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA) within 6 months (required unless waived).
• ACLS certification within 6 months (required unless waived).
• Completion of an approved basic ECG interpretation course within three months of hire.
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication with physicians, patients and staff.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate monitoring and recording equipment; collect data for physician review.
• Monitor ECG for cardiac dysrhythmias.
• Operate defibrillator and assist in emergencies.
• Assist in pre- and post-procedure activities and calibrate equipment.
• Identify cardiovascular anatomy for documentation.
• Document clinical data during procedures.
• Prepare imaging, angiographic and storage systems; position patient and set exposure factors.
• Scrub to assist physician with diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Perform bloom operation (overdrive pacing).
• Provide age-appropriate patient care according to department policies.
