Job summary

HSHS Medical Group is seeking a skilled cardiac sonographer in Springfield, IL to perform adult and pediatric echocardiograms in the Cardiology imaging department. The role demands proficiency with TTE, TEE, and stress echocardiography, plus strong knowledge of ultrasound physics and cardiovascular anatomy.

Compensation aligns with experience. Required RDCS/RCS credentials and BLS, with 2 years of cardiac sonography experience; higher experience is considered for education equivalency.

Qualifications

• RDCS or RCS certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• 2 years cardiac sonography/ultrasound experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs adult and/or pediatric transthoracic, transesophageal and stress echocardiograms.
• Manages ultrasound technology, maintains competencies, and contributes to research.
• Supports cardiovascular imaging in a Cardiology department at St. Johns Hospital.

Education

Associates degree in allied health

Bachelor’s degree in allied health or applied sciences preferred

High school diploma/GED + 5 years experience in lieu of associate
