Job summary

Optum is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform diagnostic ultrasound studies and support physicians in cardiovascular evaluation. You will obtain high-quality images, ensure patient comfort, document results, and collaborate with the care team.

The role requires a program in DMS/Ultrasound or Cardiovascular Technology, ARDMS eligibility, BLS, and 1+ year healthcare experience. Strong teamwork and safety compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Completed an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Ultrasound, or Cardiovascular Technology program.
• ARDMS eligible or equivalent credentialing status.
• Current BLS certification.
• 1+ years of healthcare, hospital, or clinical experience.
• Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
• Basic computer skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), stress echocardiograms, and Dobutamine Stress Echo procedures.
• Obtain high-quality diagnostic images of cardiac structures and function.
• Prepare and position patients, review medical history, and explain procedures.
• Monitor patients during testing and communicate urgent findings to the physician.
• Document exam results and maintain accurate patient records.
• Perform quality control checks and ensure proper operation of ultrasound equipment.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Follow departmental policies, accreditation standards, and safety regulations.
• Complete required training and perform other duties as assigned.
