Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an Echocardiographer to perform cardiac ultrasound procedures and support staff during stress echo and TEE. The role requires knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology, with responsibilities spanning imaging, documentation, and equipment maintenance.

The position emphasizes patient-centered care, precise data entry, and adherence to accreditation standards, within our New Jersey facilities. Strong communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a certified cardiovascular technology school and/or graduate of an accredited ultrasonography program with a specialty in cardiac sonography.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office/Google Suite).

Responsibilities

• Performs echocardiograms including 2-D, 3-D where applicable, strain, M-Mode, color flow imaging and Doppler studies.
• Recognizes need for contrast imaging enhancement and administers per protocol.
• Maintains preliminary measurements and documentation in Cardiovascular Information Systems for physician review.
• Obtains patient history and performs procedures as ordered.
• Transports equipment to patient rooms and prepares for bedside studies.
• Calibrates, cleans and maintains equipment; reports breakdowns and supply needs.
• Follows IAC guidelines and center competencies.
• Completes EPIC workflow and related billing processes.
• Cleans and prepares room for next patient.
• Adheres to organizational competencies and standards.
