Qualifications

• Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from an accredited college or technical school.
• 0-2 years of experience as Echocardiogram Technician.
• SPI Certification and ARDMS certification within one year of hire; RDCS/RVT certification must also be completed within one year.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and examines all patients, verifying their identity for ultrasound examinations and obtaining health status/history.
• Explains the exam to patients and answers questions not related to diagnosis or prognosis.
• Develops or modifies a procedure plan based on health status and history, adjusting technique as needed.
• Analyzes sonographic findings and performs measurements per laboratory protocols and guidelines.
• Notifies the physician of any urgent issues and ensures patient safety before discharge.
• Records diagnostic images and data for study interpretation and archival purposes; provides a Studycast summary.
• Assists and positions patients during Echo procedures and ensures room readiness and equipment cleanliness.
• Ensures images are properly labeled and transmitted to Studycast and adheres to infection control policies.
