Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks an Echo Tech to perform diagnostic cardiac exams under physician direction, ensuring safety and high-quality results. The role includes coordinating with staff, educating patients, and documenting exams according to department protocols.

The position is full-time with 40 hours weekly, four 10-hour shifts, and on-call requirements. Location includes St. Mary’s Regional Hospital and Grand Junction Cardiology Clinic.”

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred and must be from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, offices and patients.
• Educate patient and family on procedure and transport patient.
• Perform ultrasound exams in a timely manner according to protocols.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort and achieve quality outcomes.
• Communicate patient needs to physicians and caregivers throughout the exam.
• Document exam results and required information; apply charge codes.
• Maintain equipment and stock supplies; coordinate repairs or supplies as needed.
• Mentor caregivers and students on equipment use and technique.
• Provide education to other caregivers, fellows, and students as appropriate.
