Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced Cardiac Sonographer to perform a range of echocardiography studies, including 2D/3D, Doppler, and TEE, across multiple sites. You will prepare preliminary reports for Cardiologists and participate in quality improvement activities.

The ideal candidate holds ARRT/ARDMS credentials, CPR/BLS, and prefers 1 year of relevant patient experience. This full-time role requires flexibility for weekends, holidays and on-call coverage, with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Valid Sonography credential registration (ARRT(S), RDMS, RDCS) through ARRT/ARDMS; CPR/BLS required.
• Must be registered in appropriate cardiology specialties within one year of hire.
• One year experience with patients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and emergency echocardiograms (2D/3D, Doppler, TEE, stress) per protocols.
• Records quality information and prepares preliminary reports for Cardiologist review.
• Explain procedures to patients and families; provide care across locations and shifts.
• Maintain equipment and assist in quality improvement activities.
• Instruct students, fellows, or health personnel as requested.
• Participate in Echo Lab meetings and continuing education; weekend/holiday/on-call as needed.
