Job summary

Methodist Healthcare System is seeking an Echo/Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist to perform physician-ordered cardiac exams under the Non-Invasive Cardiology Manager. The role requires proficiency with 2-D, M-mode, color Doppler, and TEEs, plus carotid imaging and stress echo as applicable.

The candidate should be ARDMS/CCI eligible and have an accredited sonography education program with related clinical ultrasound experience.

Qualifications

• Registration eligibility with ARDMS or CCI (RDCS/RDMS-FE or RRCS) as required.
• Completion of an Associate’s Degree in a patient-care related allied health program and 1 year ultrasound experience.
• Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited diagnostic medical sonography/vascular technology program.
• Bachelor’s degree plus 6 months of ultrasound experience or ARDMS/ RCS eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Acquire signed physician orders for exams and prioritize STAT requests.
• Ensure proper equipment operation and basic troubleshooting during exams.
• Perform adult and pediatric echocardiograms with 2-D, M-mode, color Doppler, and Doppler imaging.
• Perform TEEs and assist with probe insertion and data documentation.
• Assist with tilt-table testing and patient preparation including NPO status and monitoring.
• Provide carotid imaging with color Doppler and pulsed-wave Doppler.
• Maintain patient reports and ensure proper storage of archived data.
• Perform high-level disinfection of equipment per policy.
