Job summary

St Joseph’s Health is seeking a skilled echocardiography technician to perform echocardiograms (TEE, TTE, SE) for adult inpatients and outpatients across various locations. The role requires adherence to ASE guidelines and IAC standards, with emphasis on accuracy and patient orientation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Cardiac sonographer certification within 6 months of hire.
• Graduate of formal cardiac sonography program or currently enrolled.
• Knowledge of ultrasound techniques, principles and procedures; equipment competence preferred; current BLS.

Responsibilities

• Perform echocardiograms (TEE, TTE, SE) for inpatient and outpatient adults.
• Collaborate interdepartmentally to ensure timely completion of studies.
• Administer imaging agent per ASE guidelines.
• Participate in the department's Quality Improvement program.
• Identify patients and orient them to procedures; comply with IAC standards and guidelines.
• Maintain and handle equipment per manufacturer guidelines and organizational policy.
• Travel up to 10% between locations within the Region.
