Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an Echo Technician to perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasounds under physician direction. The role is full-time with four 10-hour shifts, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with on-call responsibilities and a 30-minute response time.

Primarily based at St. Mary's Regional Hospital with rotations to the Cardiology Clinic in Grand Junction. ARDMS/CCI and BLS are required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred; education from an accredited institution; degree will be verified.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department-specific protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, physician offices, caregivers and patients.
• Prepare for exams by ID processes, educating patient/family, and transporting patient.
• Perform ultrasound exams per related protocols in a timely manner.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort while achieving quality outcomes.
• Communicate patient needs and coordinate care with physicians and family.
• Return patient to room and ensure stability post-exam.
• Mentor caregivers and students on equipment use and technique.
• Document exam results and required information; apply charge codes.
• Maintain equipment, work area, and stock supplies; coordinate repairs.
• Support team and quality improvement initiatives; participate in education.
