Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. is seeking a skilled Echo Tech to perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound exams under physician supervision. The role requires ARDMS/CCI certification, BLS, and the ability to coordinate with cardiology staff and patients.

Primarily based at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital with rotating duties at the Grand Junction Cardiology Clinic. This full-time position offers four 10-hour shifts (6:30 AM–5:00 PM, Mon-Fri) with on-call responsibilities and a 30-minute response.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers and patients.
• Prepare for the exam by following patient identification processes, educating patient and family on procedure, and transporting the patient.
• Perform ultrasound exams consistent with related protocols and in a timely manner.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort and achieve quality outcomes.
• Identify patient needs and coordinate care with physicians, other caregivers, patient, and family.
• Return patient to room and ensure stability and safety after the exam.
• Mentor caregivers and students on equipment use and technique.
• Document exam results and apply charge codes.
• Clean and maintain equipment, work area, and stock supplies.
• Coordinate repair or supply needs.
• Support team and quality improvement initiatives.
• Participate in educational opportunities to develop skills.
