Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an Echo Tech responsible for performing diagnostic cardiac exams under physician direction. The role is based at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital with rotations to the Cardiology Clinic in Grand Junction.

The position requires ARDMS/CCI and BLS, with a preferred Bachelor’s Degree. Responsibilities include scheduling exams, coordinating with staff and patients, performing ultrasound procedures, documenting results, and supporting quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution; degree will be verified.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers and patients.
• Prepare for the exam by identifying patients, educating patient and family, and transporting.
• Perform ultrasound exams per related protocols in a timely manner.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort and achieve quality outcomes.
• Communicate patient needs and coordinate care with physicians and family.
• Document exam results and apply charge codes.
• Maintain equipment and supplies; coordinate repairs or supply needs.
• Support team and quality improvement initiatives.
• Participate in educational opportunities to ensure clinical competence and develop skills."
• Provide education for other caregivers, fellows, and students as appropriate.
