Job summary

UVA Community Health in Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Diagnostic unit to monitor patients during cardiac stress testing and interpret EKG rhythms. You will educate patients on procedures and ensure pre-test protocols are followed in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

As a clinical leader, you will collaborate with physicians and other staff, manage supplies, and support day-to-day clinic operations while providing care to a diverse patient population.

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of a nursing program as approved by the State Board of Nursing.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required. 3 years of related experience preferred.
• Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia prior to onboarding.
• AHA Healthcare BLS required.
• Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and Universal Precautions protocol.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up, and monitor patients undergoing cardiac stress testing (nuclear, pharmacologic, stress echocardiography, exercise treadmill).
• Identify and interpret EKG rhythms during testing.
• Educate and prepare patients for stress-testing procedures and pre-test protocols.
• Respond to medical emergencies in the clinic, including codes and rapid-response situations.
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, and clinical staff to support safe patient care.
