Job summary

UVA Community Health in Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Diagnostic unit to monitor patients during cardiac stress testing and interpret EKG rhythms. You will educate patients on procedures and ensure pre-test protocols are followed in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

As a clinical leader, you will collaborate with physicians and other staff, manage supplies, and support day-to-day clinic operations while providing care to a diverse patient population.

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of a nursing program as approved by the State Board of Nursing.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required. 3 years of related experience preferred.
• Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia prior to onboarding.
• AHA Healthcare BLS required.
• Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and Universal Precautions protocol.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up, and monitor patients undergoing cardiac stress testing (nuclear, pharmacologic, stress echocardiography, exercise treadmill).
• Identify and interpret EKG rhythms during testing.
• Educate and prepare patients for stress-testing procedures and pre-test protocols.
• Respond to medical emergencies in the clinic, including codes and rapid-response situations.
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, and clinical staff to support safe patient care.

JOB SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for the management and provision of care given to patients by self or others who are under their supervision and in accordance with UVA Health’s policies and procedures and scope of practice. The Registered Nurse serves as a leader of the healthcare team by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health. The Registered Nurse will assist Clinic leaders and Medical Providers with additional and unique needs of the patient population. Serves as the clinical resource for all clinical team members in the clinic. Models’ leadership qualities for other team members and assists the Clinic Leaders with day‑to‑day operations. May order or assist with ordering of clinical supplies, linens, pharmaceuticals, as well as maintain inventories and required logs/documentation. This position requires providing services to all age populations in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individuals served.

The base compensation range for this role is $31.36 - $49.94 hourly.

Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education. Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs such as shift differentials, clinical ladders, and other incentives that may be available for those in eligible positions.
