Job summary

Alaska Heart & Vascular Institute in Anchorage seeks a Cardiac Device Tech to support the Cardiac Device Clinic under limited supervision. The role involves assisting with clinic operations, device checks, and coordination with other hospitals to ensure timely services.

Responsibilities include in-office pacemaker and AICD checks, remote monitoring triage, device parameter testing, and programming. Proficiency with St. Jude, Boston Scientific and Medtronic programmers is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or equivalent in science/biomedical field preferred.
• Two years patient care experience with implantable cardiac devices preferred.
• Proficient in using pacemaker/defibrillator programmers and remote monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Performs office pacemaker/AICD checks every 3–6 months per orders.
• Triage remote monitor transmissions and generate clear provider reports.
• Provide customer service and patient care in-clinic and by phone.
• Apply advanced troubleshooting and programming concepts for device optimization.
• Coordinate with clinics and hospitals to ensure timely services.
