Job summary

FSN is seeking a Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician (CVOR Tech) to support complex cardiac surgeries, maintain sterile fields, prepare surgical equipment, and assist the team through high-acuity procedures. Role offers growth, recognition, and a collaborative environment.

Requirements include an associate degree or Surgical Technology program, 1 year OR experience in cardiovascular/cardiothoracic surgery, CST credential, and BLS (ACLS a plus).

Qualifications

• Associate degree or accredited Surgical Technology program completed; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of OR surgical technologist experience, cardiovascular/cardiothoracic surgeries.
• CST credential from NBSTSA required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as scrub technologist for open-heart, thoracic, and vascular procedures (CABG, valve repairs, LVAD).
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields and complex instrument sets.
• Pass instruments, sutures, and supplies with precision.
• Collaborate with perfusionists to set up and manage bypass circuits.
• Maintain sterile technique and safety protocols throughout procedures.
• Troubleshoot equipment and maintain field integrity in high-pressure situations.
