Job summary

Salinas Valley Health in Salinas, CA, is seeking a part-time clerical scheduler for the Cardiac Diagnostic Outpatient Clinic. You will handle scheduling, patient registration, and data entry while supporting smooth patient flow and high-quality care.

You will work with Meditech, PACS, and SharePoint, ensuring accurate records and timely communications. The role requires 1–2 years in a similar setting and BLS certification within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of clerical/scheduling experience preferred.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• BLS/Healthcare Provider certification with up to 6 months to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls professionally and route to the appropriate person.
• Schedule and reschedule inpatient/outpatient procedures; assist with scheduling for related departments.
• Confirm appointments and distribute daily department schedule up to 48 hours in advance.
• Pre-register patients in Meditech with accurate demographics and documentation.
• Process e-sign and transfer records to notes; provide patient info as needed.
• Maintain schedules and calendars and support department flow.
• Utilize PACS and other tools to transmit imaging and billing data.
• Assist with billing corrections and Medicare month-end submissions.
