Job summary

Mission Regional Medical Center is seeking a Cardiac Interventional Technologist (per diem) to support its Cath Lab team. You will scrub, monitor, and assist in diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures under physician supervision.

The role requires ARRT(R) or RCIS, BCLS, and ACLS within 30 days, with prior cardiovascular lab experience preferred. Per diem shifts, variable hours, and a commitment to patient safety accompany this opportunity.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Cardiovascular Lab is preferred.
• ARRT(R) or RCIS credential is required or as applicable by state.
• BCLS (AHA) certification required at hire and maintained.
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist cardiologists during cardiac catheterization procedures and monitor relevant data.
• Ensure equipment, catheters, monitors, and imaging devices are ready before procedures.
• Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and ensuring comfort and positioning.
• Monitor vital signs, EKGs, and hemodynamic data during procedures.
• Scrub in and assist the physician, handling catheters and related tools.
• Document all aspects of procedures, patient data, medications, and complications.
• Transfer patients to recovery and provide post-procedure instructions as needed.
• Participate in quality assurance and staff training to ensure safety and effectiveness.
• Track instrument par levels and support invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures.

We are seeking a Cardiac Catheterization Technologist, internally referred to as our Cardiac Interventional Technologist or Cath Lab/IR Technologist . Our Cath Lab Tech's will operate under the oversight of a physician (either a Cardiologist or Radiologist). The role involves assisting in procedures by scrubbing or monitoring physiological and hemodynamic data relevant to diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures conducted in the cardiovascular lab. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed .

Responsibilities

• If order to move forward in this position you will have to have your ARRT (R) or RCIS credential with some experience in the field .
• A ssist cardiologists during cardiac catheterization procedures, which involve threading catheters through blood vessels to diagnose and treat various heart /cardiovascular conditions
• E nsure that all necessary equipment, including catheters, monitors, and imaging devices, are properly set up and functioning before each procedure
• H elp prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring they are comfortable and properly positioned on the procedure table
• D uring procedures, monitor patients' vital signs, electrocardiograms (EKGs), and hemodynamic data to ensure their safety and provide real-time information to the medical team
• M ay scrub in and assist the physician directly during the procedure, handling catheters, guidewires, and other equipment as needed
• A ccurately document all aspects of the procedure, including patient information, medications administered, and any complications that arise
• H elp transfer patients to recovery areas after the procedure, monitor their condition and provid e any necessary post-procedure instructions or assistance
• P articipate in quality assurance , quality improvement initiatives and training new staff to ensure that procedures are performed safely and effectively
• T rack the par level of all instruments and supplies, and provide support for both invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures in all capacities for the cardia c cath lab

Qualifications

• ARRT-R and license as required by State or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) required.
• Previous experience in a Cardiovascular Lab; preferred.
• Cardiovascular technologist training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring preferred.
• BCLS (AHA) required upon hire and maintain current.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); required within 30 days of hire.
• Proficient computer skills.
