Job summary

The Special Procedures/Cardiac Cath Technologist at Wayne UNC Health Care performs radiologic procedures under a radiologist, assisting physicians with image-guided vascular interventions to diagnose and treat diseases.

Requirements include NC RN license, ARRT registration, VI preferred, BLS, and at least one year of Diagnostic Radiology experience; proficient with MS Office and Epic.

Qualifications

• Completion of two years of formal Radiologic Technology training.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Registration by ARRT; VI Radiography certification preferred; BLS certification required.
• Minimum one year experience as a Registered Diagnostic Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic, special and radiographic procedures.
• Assists in invasive procedures including scrubbing, circulating, monitoring and recording hemodynamic parameters.
• Prepares patient for exams and confirms consent forms.
• Administers contrast media per orders; demonstrates IV techniques.
• Operates radiology equipment and ensures image transfer/quality.
• Maintains patient positioning and reduces radiation exposure.
• Documents data accurately in systems and supports quality programs.
• Assists in education of new teammates and students.
