Job summary

UNC Health Care in Wayne is seeking a Special Procedures/Cardiac Cath Technologist to perform radiologic procedures and assist physicians with image-guided vascular interventions. The role requires ARRT registration and BLS, with at least one year of diagnostic technologist experience.

The position is full-time, onsite at WAYNE MED, with a 40-hour work week and day schedule. Training and ongoing education are emphasized to maintain high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Completion of two years of formal Radiologic Technology training in a school approved by the Council of Education of the American Medical Association.
• Registration by the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) is required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic, special and radiographic procedures.
• Assists in invasive procedures, including scrubbing, circulating, monitoring and recording hemodynamic parameters.
• Prepares patient for exams and ensures consent forms are complete.
• Administers contrast media according to provider orders and demonstrates IV therapy techniques.
• Operates radiology equipment and transfers images to the PACS system, ensuring image quality and proper identification.
• Positions patient and uses immobilization devices to obtain optimal views.
• Minimizes radiation exposure and maintains patient safety.
• Maintains accurate documentation in all systems and records procedural data.
• Participates in quality improvement and staff education activities.
