Job summary

Wayne UNC Health Care is seeking a Special Procedures/Cardiac Cath Technologist to perform a range of radiographic and invasive vascular procedures under a radiologist and to assist in image-guided interventions.

The role requires ARRT registration, BLS, and at least one year as a Registered Diagnostic Technologist, with VI radiography preferred. Day-shift, onsite, 40 hours per week, with ongoing patient-care responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Two-year Radiologic Technology program completed in an AMA-approved school.
• ARRT registration is required.
• Vascular-Interventional (VI) Radiography certification preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum of one year experience as a Registered Diagnostic Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic, special and radiographic procedures.
• Assists in invasive procedures including scrubbing, circulating and monitoring hemodynamic parameters.
• Prepares patients and confirms consent forms are complete.
• Administers contrast media and IV therapy per orders.
• Operates radiology equipment and transfers images to PACS with proper identification.
• Maintains patient safety and minimizes radiation exposure.
