Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• New hires (as of 6/1/2013) must satisfy one of the listed options.
• One year full-time Invasive Cardiovascular Technology experience.
• An Associate Degree or 62 semester hours in health, science, nursing, engineering or related field.
• Graduate of an accredited Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program.
• Graduate of a non-programmatically accredited program with 1 year specialty training and 800 clinical hours.
• Completed initial and ongoing training/competencies for the service line and department.
• Two-year full-time in Invasive Cardiovascular Technology preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in health/science/nursing/engineering plus six months experience in Invasive Cardiovascular Technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates technical proficiency for cardiac catheterization procedures as Cardiac Cath Lab Invasive Specialist.
• Identifies cardiac structures and disease processes; assists Cardiologist with patient care.
• Maintains ALARA radiation safety and proper badge handling according to state/facility rules.
• Assists physician with data entry into Physiologic Monitoring System for hemodynamic measurements.
• Reports ejection fraction and analyzes cardiac function using LV analysis programs.
• Archives procedural data for long-term storage and ensures complete procedure records.
