Methodist Hospital Westover Hills in San Antonio, TX, seeks a Cath Lab Tech PRN to join the Cardiac Cath Lab team. The role focuses on invasive cardiovascular procedures, data collection, and cardiovascular patient care.

The selected candidate will demonstrate competency in catheterization procedures, monitor hemodynamics, and support the cardiology team with accurate data reporting. Qualified applicants will have relevant education/experience and current licensure eligibility.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED required.
• Two years fulltime Invasive Cardiovascular Technology experience or an Associate Degree/62 semester hours in health/science or related field.
• Graduate of an accredited Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program.
• Graduate of a non-accredited program with minimum 1 year specialty training and 800 clinical hours.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates technical proficiency for cardiac catheterization procedures as Cardiac Cath Lab Invasive Specialist.
• Identify cardiac structures and disease processes; ensure data collection and equipment setup.
• Maintain radiation safety and ALARA compliance per regulations and safety committees.
• Assist physician with entering data into Physiologic Monitoring Systems and ensure accurate hemodynamic measurements.
• Assess cardiac function and report ejection fraction using appropriate analysis tools.
• Ensure proper archiving of Angiographic and procedural data; maintain complete procedure documentation.
• May have access to contrast agents and other non-controlled medications as needed.
• May participate in on-call rotations; support mission and safety policies.

Education

High School graduate or GED

Associate Degree or 62 semester hours in health/ science/ nursing/ engineering or related field

Graduate of an accredited Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program

Graduate of a non-programmatically accredited program with 1 year specialty training and 800 clinical hours
