Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center is seeking a Cardiovascular Tech RCIS to assist with invasive cardiovascular procedures under physician supervision. The role includes acting as monitor tech, scrub tech, and circulator in the cath lab, with responsibilities from patient prep to post-procedure care.

The candidate will need an associate or bachelor’s degree, AHA ACLS certification, RCIS within 18 months, and ARRT or TX RT(R) as alternatives. On-site schedule is M-F, 7:00–17:30.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree required or commensurate healthcare experience.
• Licenses and/or Certifications (Required and Preferred)
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardio Life Support certification
• RCIS certified within eighteen (18) months of date of hire
• ARRT and TX RT(R) required in lieu of RCIS

Responsibilities

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assists physician as a monitor tech during procedures in the cath lab, interpreting basic and advanced dysrhythmia and EKGs and operating physiologic recorder.
• Assists physician with most procedures as a scrub tech and operates imaging equipment under physician direction.
• Assists as a circulator, monitors patient status during procedures, hands supplies to the scrub tech, and operates imaging equipment.
• Transfers patients to and from the department.
• Cleans and stocks the cath lab and maintains sterile technique.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medications and dosages used; shows theoretical knowledge of procedures.
• Orders supplies for cath lab and maintains inventory control.
• Performs post-procedure safety, manages hemostasis, and monitors patient status.
