Job summary

UAB Medicine’s Cardiac Cath Lab at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham is seeking an experienced leader to plan, direct, and optimize daily operations of the Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Laboratories.

You will partner with physicians and nursing leadership to deliver patient-centered care, drive throughput, and ensure regulatory compliance. The role requires 3 years in a Cardiac Cath Lab or cardiovascular area, 1 year in leadership, and experience with budgeting, staffing, quality

Qualifications

• RN Candidate with BSN preferred and current RN license in Alabama.
• Cath Lab Technologist Candidate requires RCIS or ARRT with cardiovascular experience and relevant BLS/ACLS.
• Experience in budgeting, staffing, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides operational and clinical leadership for daily functions of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Electrophysiology Laboratory, ensuring safe, efficient, patient-centered care and regulatory compliance.
• Leads and develops departmental staff by recruiting, hiring, coaching, mentoring, evaluating performance, promoting engagement, and supporting orientation and professional development.
• Manages departmental operations and resources, including staffing, scheduling, call coverage, productivity, budgeting, capital planning, supply utilization, inventory management, and labor expenses to achieve goals.
• Drives quality, safety, and performance improvement by monitoring outcomes, metrics, patient satisfaction, regulatory readiness, and process improvement.
• Collaborates with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient flow and procedural efficiency across the Cardiovascular Service Line.
• Supports growth by evaluating new technologies and implementing best practices to improve operations and access.
• Analyzes data to identify trends, develop action plans, and ensure accountability.
• Performs other leadership responsibilities as assigned, including committees and on-call duties.
