Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a Unit Secretary/Nursing Tech for its Cardiac Critical Care unit. The role includes clerical duties, patient monitoring support, and basic care tasks under supervision.

This position offers 12-hour night shifts and opportunities for growth within a large health system. Candidates should have a high school diploma, BLS certification, and perhaps CNA/MA training or relevant patient care experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Preferred: CNA/MA training or nursing student with skills lab, or at least 6 months direct patient care.
• On-the-job training and competency verification provided.
• BLS (AHA) certification required at time of hire.
• Current emergency response training certifications maintained.
• Complete department competency training within the specified timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Greet and direct patients and promote accurate unit communication.
• Answer phones and route information to appropriate parties.
• Monitor patients and document vitals and actions in patient records.
• Assist in venous access, phlebotomy after training, and wound care as directed.
• Support with patient transport, oxygen administration and daily living activities.
• Maintain cleanliness, restock supplies and transport specimens as needed.
