Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a nurse aide to provide direct patient care and assist the RN in caring for patients in stable condition. The role involves performing basic nursing procedures, monitoring vitals, and supporting admissions, discharges, and transfers.

The incumbent must have a high school diploma or GED, be CPR certified, and able to follow written and oral instructions. Prior acute care experience is preferred; training periods and HIPAA compliance are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.
• CPR certification required.
• Preferred acute care experience within the last 3 years.
• Enrolled in ASN or BSN program.

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care and activities such as activities of daily living, vital signs, ambulation, specimen collection, intake and output, meal consumption, height and weight, glucose testing and documentation.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives and maintains a clean, safe environment.
• Accurately documents vital signs, weights, intake/output and treatments; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Participates in unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
