Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a nursing assistant to provide direct patient care and assist with unit coordination for stable patients. You will document care in the EMR, monitor vitals, and support the RN in caring for acutely ill patients while maintaining patient dignity and privacy.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and the ability to learn quickly during two weeks of training, with basic math and computer skills. CPR and background clearances are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Basic computer skills and ability to perform basic mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care and activities such as ADL, vitals, I&O, ambulation, and specimen collection.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives, bedside shift report, and promotes safety and hygiene.
• Accurately documents vital signs, weights, I&O, and treatments; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Participates in unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
