Job summary

The Heart Failure Unit (5E) at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to deliver high-acuity care to patients with complex cardiac needs, including LVAD/post-op open-heart cases. The role spans day and midnight rotations with a 72-hour weekly schedule, and requires BSN (or commitment to BSN) and Delaware RN licensure eligibility.

Education and requirements include at least one year of RN experience, plus BLS (ACLS preferred).

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; commitment to obtaining BSN within three years of hire.
• At least one year of RN experience; prior stepdown or critical care preferred.
• Delaware RN licensure or eligibility.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to high-acuity cardiac patients.
• Perform advanced assessment and continuous hemodynamic monitoring.
• Administer medications and educate patients and families.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and intervene as needed.
