Job summary

The Heart Failure Unit (5E) at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide high-acuity care for complex cardiac patients, including post‑operative open‑heart and LVAD cases. This full-time role features day/midnight shifts, 72 hours per pay, and weekend/holiday coverage.

BSN preferred (or commitment to obtain BSN within 3 years); at least one year of RN experience; DE licensure or eligibility; BLS required; ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• Commitment to obtaining BSN within three years of date of hire.
• At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse required.
• Previous stepdown experience preferred.
• Previous critical care experience preferred.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred.
• Delaware RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Delaware

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to high-acuity cardiac patients.
• Perform advanced assessment and continuous hemodynamic monitoring.
• Administer medications and educate patients and families.
• Detect changes in patient condition early and respond promptly.
