Job summary

Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant to work in our Cardiac Recovery and Observation (CROU) and Cardiac PACU department. You will provide post-procedural recovery care for cardiovascular patients in a combined 17-bed recovery unit, with inpatient and outpatient responsibilities.

Schedule: M-F, days; no nights/weekends/holidays/on-call.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited school/college of nursing OR master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
• Acute care certification required for APRNs.
• Current Illinois RN or APRN license with appropriate certification.
• Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and physical examinations.
• Provide direct clinical care and prescribe medications within privileges.
• Collaborate with physicians and other health professionals.
• Educate patients and families; assist in staff education.
• Participate in quality improvement and research activities.
• Advocate for patients and the community.
