Job summary

Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (with RNFA) to join our Cardiac Surgery OR team. The APP will work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment delivering exceptional patient care while supporting innovation and collaboration across the perioperative continuum.

The role emphasizes clinical excellence, teaching, and participation in quality improvement, with a schedule of 4x10s and rotating weekends, and some overnight call

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing or PA program required.
• Acute care certification and RNFA required for APRNs.
• Current Illinois RN and APRN licensure; physician assistant license also acceptable.
• Privileged and credentialed through the Medical Staff Office.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to health outcomes of an assigned patient population.
• Provides direct clinical care and prescribes therapies as appropriate.
• Collaborates with physicians and other health professionals in clinical areas.
