Job summary

Oklahoma Heart Hospital, LLC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in our Oklahoma Heart Hospital outpatient clinic. You will work under supervision to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate clinical documentation.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking histories, vital signs, assisting with procedures, vaccines, and wound care, and coordinating referrals within the system. High school diploma and BLS are required; clinic experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 60 months of hire.
• 6 months to 1 year of clinic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in in-office and off-site clinic locations while following all policies and regulatory requirements.
• Room patients, obtain histories, and measure vital signs to support efficient patient flow.
• Answer calls and direct to appropriate staff to ensure timely communication.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and diagnostic testing in a cardiovascular outpatient setting.
• Maintain and sterilize examination rooms, stock supplies, and ensure infection control standards.
• Triage patient calls and communicate concerns to nursing staff or physicians.
• Process prescription refill requests and review patient charts for accuracy in EMR.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals and tests within the network.
• Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and physician instructions to support continuity of care.
• Document all patient interactions accurately in the medical record.
