Job summary

Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to join the Progressive Care Cardiac 3D Unit. This full-time role supports a 37-bed cardiac unit, including post cath, CHF, and telemetry patients, as part of an interdisciplinary team.

The position offers a 6pm–6:30am night shift, weekend rotations, and differential incentives. Be part of Banner Health, a large network recognized for excellence in patient care and advanced cardiac services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current CNA license in the state of practice.
• 1 year medical clerical experience or similar.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology; computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care to promote comfort and support the patient plan of care.
• Collect and document vital signs, input/output, and other data per policy.
• Report changes in patient condition to licensed staff.
• Assist with procedures such as blood draws, catheter removal, ECGs, and ECG monitoring.
• Perform receptionist/clerical tasks to support department operations.
• Maintain patient records and supplies; assist with orders and charting in EMR.
