Job summary

Pelican Credit Union in Baton Rouge, LA is hiring a Card Services Representative to support member needs by handling credit and debit inquiries over the phone and performing essential card operations. The role emphasizes accuracy, excellent service, and adherence to regulations while working in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will bring at least 1 year of card operations or teller/call center experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in card operations, a teller or call center role, or in role reviewing member’s financial accounts.
• High school education or equivalent.
• Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and member service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
• Xperience or Symitar experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to internal inbound inquiries regarding plastic cards in a timely manner.
• Process and respond to member requests including, but not limited to, travel notifications, rush shipment requests, limit increases, merchant hold releases, card activation or deactivation, and closure requests.
• Make outbound calls to cardholders regarding research requests and outstanding issues.
• Process maintenance requests for debit and credit cards, such as setting up cards, blocking cards, removing blocks, rushing shipment requests and increasing daily limits.
• Complete reports, tasks and projects as assigned with established guidelines and timelines.
• Learn relevant card associated regulations pertaining to debit/credit cards, such as Visa Operating Rules and Regulations E and Z.
