Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, seeks a Fabrication Operator I for the Carbon Brake Team in Santa Fe Springs, CA. You will learn to load carbon fabric into hydraulic presses, apply resin, and track parts with MES. Position is second shift with Monday–Friday 2:00 PM–10:30 PM, onsite.

You must have a HS diploma or GED (or 2 years relevant experience) and be a U.S. Person with ability to obtain security clearance. Benefits include comprehensive insurance and 401(k)matching.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Person as defined by policy.
• Ability to obtain security clearance.
• HS diploma (or GED) required, or 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of diploma.

Responsibilities

• Learn the carbon brake fabrication steps for loading/unloading carbon preforms into hydraulic presses.
• Apply phenolic resin to carbon fabric.
• Use handheld scanners to track parts.
• Precisely measure with standard tools and scales.
• Enter data in MES at fabrication steps per SOPs and drawings.
• Communicate potential mechanical or safety issues to supervisor.
• Operate forklift and/or Big Joe to move preforms on pallets.
