Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Fabrication Operator I to join the Carbon Brake Team in Santa Fe Springs, CA. You will help fabricate carbon brake components by loading preforms, applying resin, and operating presses on the second shift.

You will be trained to set up presses with die cutters, operate forklifts, and use MES to document steps. A HS diploma or equivalent and US Person status are required, with eligibility for security clearance.

Qualifications

• HS diploma (or equivalent) or 2 years of relevant work experience required.
• Must be a U.S. Person and able to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Learn the steps of the carbon brake fabrication process for loading/unloading carbon composite preforms into hydraulic presses.
• Apply phenolic resin to carbon fabric.
• Use handheld scanners to track all parts.
• Precisely measure using standard measuring instruments and scales.
• Acquire proficiency in MES to enter data at fabrication steps.
• Follow SOPs, WI, and part drawings.
