Job summary

Hornblower Group's CityCruisesUS seeks a Captain to oversee the safe operation, maintenance, and overall condition of the vessel and the safety of all aboard. You will supervise the crew and direct daily activities to meet company and regulatory standards.

The captain directs crew on and off the vessel, ensures proper manning per COI and USCG rules, conducts safety drills, reports incidents, and maintains logs with Wheel-House Software. Flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

  • Captain must hold a 100-TON Master Inland license or higher.
  • TWIC, First Aid/CPR and Marine Radio Operator Permit required.
  • Detail oriented with strong situational awareness.
  • Excellent radar and navigation skills with safety focus.
  • Able to manage crew and equipment across shifting schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Onboard manager and representative of the company.
  • Safely operate and navigate the vessel in all weather conditions.
  • Ensure proper manning and accurate passenger counts.
  • Train crew and enforce USCG and company policies.
  • Report accidents and maintain logs.
  • Maintain vessel appearance and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Conduct safety drills per USCG and policy.
  • Lead daily job briefings.
  • Enforce policies and regulatory compliance.
