Job summary

Hornblower Group’s City Cruises division seeks a Captain to oversee the safe operation, maintenance, and supervision of the vessel and crew. You will direct navigation, manage day-to-day activities, and ensure regulatory compliance for passenger safety.

You will train crew, maintain required records, and lead safety drills while upholding company policies. The role requires availability for nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 100-TON Master Inland or higher license required.
  • TWIC, First Aid/CPR required.
  • Marine Radio Operator Permit required.
  • Detail oriented with situational awareness and strong safety focus.

Responsibilities

  • Captain is onboard manager and representative.
  • Safely operate and navigate vessel in all weather; ensure safety of all aboard.
  • Ensure proper manning per COI and accurate passenger counts.
  • Train crew and ensure compliance with USCG, Federal & State laws and company policies.
  • Promptly report accidents/incidents and complete required forms.
  • Maintain vessel appearance and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Conduct safety drills as required by USCG and policy.
  • Lead daily job briefings and ensure shift log updates.
  • Ensure adherence to emergency plans and company policies.
